Proverbs Chapters 5,6 and 7

Happy Friday Yall!!

We decided to do chapters 5,6 and 7 together because they talk alot about adultry and thats not a super fun subject. That being said adultery is serious, its bad, its a sin, dont do it!

Proverbs 7:1-5 tells us “My son, obey my words, and treasure my commands. Keep my commands and live; protect my teachings as the pupil of your eye. Tie them to your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call understanding your relative. She will keep you from a forbidden woman, a stranger with her flattering talk.”

If we stay true to God’s teachings and follow in His wisdom He will lead us from temptation. Hide God’s word in your heart so that when we are tempted we will be able to resist temptation.

1 Corinthians 10:13 says “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

God will always provide a way out if we only search for it and listen for His voice.

Proverbs 6:16-23 says

“The Lord hates six things; in fact, seven are detestable to Him: arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that plots wicked schemes, feet eager to run to evil, a lying witness who gives false testimony, and one who stirs up trouble among brothers.”

Lets walk as women of God and not women of the world. Lets seek to always be humble, speak truth, love everyone, plot good things and avoid gossip.

Yall have a great weekend! We cant wait to study 2 more women of the Bible with yall this week!

Xoxo, a&p

  1. One of our church Pastors shared this quote with our congregation many years ago, I’ve never forgotten it and I’ve seen it played out in many lives where adultery has taken hold and destroyed families.
“Sin will always TAKE you further than you wanted to go,
it will KEEP you longer than you wanted to stay and it will always COST you more than you wanted to pay.”
God will always make a way of escape from sin, we simply have to run away from it and towards Him.
