Can You become a Laborer?

Matthew 9:13 “‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Jesus wanted to show His compassion to the sinners. The sinners He had the power to punish, not to the righteous that were already following Him. He loves us all and He is always there for us whether we have been saved or we are still searching for our way to Him. But here we see the reason He was sent was to the earth.. He was sent to save all the sinners.. That is each and everyone of us! We are all precious to Him.

Matthew 9: 37&38 “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

As Jesus was on His journey going city to city sharing the word, He saw all the people who were like sheep without a shepherd. He tells His disciples to pray for laborers. He knew they needed someone to lead them. Just as we do! We see people in our towns, on tv or social media that were lead to be shepherds. The more shepherds and laborers we have the more people are going to learn about God. Just by sharing what you believe in can lead someone to know the word. Or by speaking up when someone tries to put your beliefs down.

There is only one true God! He has showed us so much compassion that we should do everything in our power to lead others to know Him and to stand up for Him!
