Week 4 Day 4 Got Arrows?

Its Bow season in Colorado right now, so I definately have arrows in my house, literally. We have been to Bass Pro Shop about 30 times this month making sure my husband has arrows and all the supplies he needs for Elk hunting up in the mountains here. So at this point I get the importance of arrows…ok back to the point. One of todays key verses is Psalm 127:3-4 “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of the warrior are children born in ones youth.” How important are the arrows in this warriors hands? In the Old Testament there were no guns so these arrows would be a warriora only way of deffense. Yes they had swords too but you had to get pretty close to kill an enemy with a sword, so Id be picking a bow and arrow!! Arrows in the Old Testament are valuable, they represent life or death to a warrior. Friend, our children are so valuable to God and they are a reward to us from our Creator himself! It is our sacred job to prepare them for this harsh world!

“We must see the importance of preparing our arrows as God directs, and lrotecting our arrows from the patterns of this world, in order that they can hit their intended target-bringing glory to God!”

XOXO,P

  1. Paige, I love the comparison you used about the arrows. I completely agree! I would most definitely use a bow and arrow if I had to choose back in those days. My husband and I pledge to prepare our arrow (raise Solomon up in a Godly household) so his life will bring glory to Jesus.
